- I love my three dogs! Stinky breath & all!
- This may be a little odd to some but it makes me smile whenever I hear Cody say "No ma'am" or "Yes Sir" to just about everyone. Just something about a cowboy & good manners ;)
- I used to be very "snotty" and thought I needed all these material things to be somebody.

About me..
I think it's time for a post that's all about me. This is for everyone out there who really doesn't know much about me. Not sure how to make all these random things flow so I'll just post tad bits of info here and there.
Friends! Church! + Team Roping!
Last weekend was a pretty good weekend around here! Cody and I were both home! Together - which doesn't happen that often. Cody's usually somewhere across the map hauling bulls to the PBR. I myself am usually back here in Oklahoma holding things down on this end. Traveling is fun and don't get me wrong I love to travel (to like tropical locations) but going to the same places every single year, for the same exact event, with the same exact people.....gets boring! The first year or maybe even year and half I went to every single event Cody hauled bulls to. I just got to the point where I was sick and tired of traveling and it got old! So now I pretty much stay back home and do things I like to do and have time to myself when he's gone. Plus I do have six dogs to take care of! It's just kind of nice to not be glued to his side 24-7 gives you a chance to actually miss your other half.
Anyways, back to this past weekend. Friday night Cody & I went to Dry Beaver with the Thrasher's. Dry Beaver is a steak house about 5 mins from our house. It's out in the country and a lot of local people from right around here go. They have the best steaks and the best margarita's! The Thrasher's are really good friends of ours. Cody actually went to school with Cody Thrasher. About a year ago Cody & Holly bought interest in some of our bulls and cows. Since then Holly and I have became good friends and we have a lot in common. She runs a small photography business as well! It was a really nice time that was way over due! & who cares if all we talked about was bulls and photography!? LOL!
Sunday morning Cody & I got up and went to church! I was so excited about this & I am looking forward to going back this weekend! You see I am a Catholic and I have went through the whole process all the way up to being confirmed. Cody on the other hand is a Baptist and growing up he went to church a lot and was really good about going. However, since we got together not once have we taken time out to figure how we would end up doing this. I would occasionally go to church with Cody's grandma (who is Catholic) and one time I got Cody to come with us and he just wasn't really feeling it. So I agreed to go with him to the Baptist church. I'm not going to lie I was really nervous because I've never been to any church other than a Catholic church. But I am really glad I went. I honestly liked it and I think that as long as Cody and I have a place that we can both go to together and praise God then that's all that matters!
We wrapped up the afternoon with heading to Velma to the Morgan's for a little jackpot team roping. I actually WENT! YES I WENT! This is a BIG DEAL!!! I um...strongly DISLIKE team roping! Sorry, but it's the longest, most drawn out, rodeo sport ever created! I think in the three years Cody and I have been together this is the third time I have gone to one! LOL! But, I went and I didn't complain not once! I won't say exactly how Cody roped.........he was just a little off his game. I on the other hand brought my camera and a book to keep me busy and before you knew it we were done and on our way home!
Here are just a few random shots while I sat back and enjoyed the team roping......haaaa!
My cowboy.
In about 4 months I will be marrying my cowboy. However, I don't always remember him being a cowboy. You see I met Cody when I was about thirteen. & well over the years we remained pretty good friends (I could always tell he wanted to do the whole boyfriend - girlfriend thing) but it took me a while to come to my senses. Cody would probably say I was being stubborn! Anyways, I finally decided I had to give it a shot and well as of January 28th, 2011 it's been three years since I've called Oklahoma my "home" and three years we've been together!
Now back to Cody being a cowboy. Yes, he is 100% cowboy and he just wouldn't have it any other way and well neither would I. It's like you can't take the boy out of the country for more than three days or he starts having major withdrawals. From sun up to sun down at our place it pretty much consists of feeding bulls, watering bulls, checking cows, tending to horses, fixing fence, putting out hay, tending to hurt bulls, and the list goes on and on and it repeats itself every single day. Sounds fun right?! It's actually not so bad but yes, it's a whole lot of work! Strange thing is I don't think Cody would pick anything in the entire world over what he does. Well except maybe if he could be a professional team roper but no worries - he's working on that weekly! Even though I still don't think he'd give up the bulls and the ranch :) Cody works real hard at what he does and I know he hasn't been in business for long but so far he's done pretty well for himself! I love my cowboy & wouldn't trade our life for anything!
Here's my cowboy.
His buckle he won this past weekend in a team roping!
Babies are here!
We have four calves on the ground as of yesterday. & Let me tell you I love, love, love.....when we start having babies hit the ground! It's probably my favorite part about Cody raising bucking cattle.
Here is a little heifer we had about seven days ago. Isn't she beautiful!? Well, let me tell you the story behind her. She came into this world and straight out of her mothers womb and into a hole of some sort. It looked like it would have been an old coyote den or maybe an armadillo hole. Luckily Cody and I were making our afternoon rounds and noticed the cow off in the distance. As we got closer we saw the back half of her sticking out of the ground! Yes, she fell into the hole - head first! Cody pulled her out and she wasn't doing so well. We ended up putting her in the truck, with the heater on full blast, and dried her off. Cody gave her a couple of injections and finally after a couple of hours we got her to stand up but she would keep falling down! On a positive note, she did look as if she had perked up some so we left her with her mom and headed back to the house for the night. Cody had jury duty in the morning so I was left with the responsibility of going to town to get Colostrum and milk just in case she was bad off and we would end up having to bottle feed. (Just so everyone knows - YES! I was secretly hoping I would get to make her my bottle baby!) As soon as I got back from town I hopped in the farm truck and headed out to the cow pasture and sure enough there she was laying, bright-eyed, holding her head up, in some tall grass. She has been doing great since then!
Our future home.
Cody and I are getting married June 18th 2011. Along with planning a wedding...we have started getting our floor plans made for our new home! We have been doing this for about um...five months now. It's been a slow process for us but we are making the last corrections and should have our final plans in the next two weeks or so! We have decided that we are going to wait until after the wedding to actually start building though. See a wedding and building a house can be stressful! Along with Cody having his bull business it's just to much all at once. But hopefully if everything continues to go well we should be starting on the house this coming summer! It's going to be a cute, country house. It will sit on 80 acres with a pond on the back 40 acres. It will be a stone house with a metal roof. Cement floors, granite counter tops, oh and I'm going to have an apron front sink with a huge window that will look out onto the back 40 so I can see all our bucking cattle! I'm also gonna have a huge island in the kitchen! I will have my OWN closet and my oh my when looking at the built-in's for it. All I could think was this is heaven sent! We will have an outside bath in the garage and a room above the garage as well. This will be perfect for guest or maybe even a studio! All I know is that Cody and I are truly blessed and happy that everything is falling into place. Even if something goes wrong and it doesn't happen next summer I know that one day we will have our perfect little home!
Four legged friends.
I have been inspired by a couple of my favorite photographers to blog more! I made this blog originally to post photos from each session and talk a little about my clients. Of course, I am going to continue to do that. But I've noticed that other photographers take pictures of anything that's relevant to their life and share it as well. So I am going to start doing that today!
As many of you may know Cody & I have a couple dogs. Okay, seven to be exact. I am a dog lover and there is no doubt about it! Whenever I moved up to Oklahoma Cody already had two dogs. Star and Boomer. I on the other hand had one little house dog that I got my freshmen year in college. That would be Paris. Over the next couple of years we got Presley, Bentley, Cooper, and now Easton. I love each of these dogs but....yes, there is a but. I've came to realize that I think we have maybe one or two too many. You see..I am home alot and well Cody is on the road alot and of course I could tag along as much as I'd like to but that on the road stuff gets old and well there is just no place like home. So therefore it leaves me taking care of these seven dogs all by myself majority of the time. There are some days when Cody gets home and I am thanking the Lord because I desperately need a break! You're probably thinking okay um, their just dogs and yes you're correct they are. However, let me share something with you Bentley, Paris, and Easton are one of the top priorities in my life. No kidding here. Ask Mr. Hebert. You see I live 9 hours away from my family and closest friends. Don't get me wrong I have friends here in Oklahoma but only a few that live close enough to actually just do spur of the moment things with. So yes, these four legged animals keep me company alot of the time. They are my friends. Well, most people who really know me would say they are like my kids. With that said let me introduce you...

This is Bentley. My beautiful Bentley. Sorry but yes, I think that Weimaraner's are one of the prettiest dogs out there! That's why I had to have one. Cody got me her about a year and half ago and she is my baby. My big baby. She is hyper. Very hyper. Knows nothing but play it's all she ever wants to do. But we figured her out quick. As long as she can be outside and play hard for about two hours then she comes inside and crashes for about five hours. She is my big outside dog that I let inside. I always wanted one of those! She is accident prone and has scared me half to death one to many times.
Paris. The queen of the household. I love this little dog to death. I mean she is the first dog I owned. However, she has a really bad attitude and she thinks she can boss everyone around, including Cody and I. She likes to spend majority of her time in our bed sleeping. Did I mention she hates Bentley? Okay, well she HATES Bentley! I mean Bentley better not even look her way or there's gonna be a problem. It takes her a little while to warm up to people but after a while she will be your little lap dog.
This is Star. Star is more Cody's dog. He had her before I moved up here. She thinks that she only has to listen to Cody and what I want her to do just doesn't really matter. She is nothing but loyal to Cody and if he is outside you can find her two steps behind him. She is the leader of the pack all the other dogs look up and follow her lead.
Boomer. Cody also had Boomer before I moved up here. He is the oldest dog out of the seven. Boomer's original owner beat him and still to this day Boomer doesn't like ropes. So Cody took him whenever the man wanted to get rid of him. Boomer spends most of his time laying around the barn. That's what I love about Boomer he never runs off or goes looking for trouble.
Meet Presley. Not really sure what she is but she is the only dog we have that isn't a pure breed. This is Cody's cousins dog well was. He moved back to Louisiana and left here her and was going to supposedly come back and get her but that never has happen and well I don't think she could live anywhere but here now. She is kind of a sissy. Doesn't like to play rough and will yelp for just about anything. But, this is Bentley's side kick most of the time. They play together really well!
Cooper! He is one big dog! I mean if there was any dog that was going to scare someone when driving up here - he would be the one! I think he is just about to make a year old. He just showed up one day and if you know me....I just had to take him in. Until Cody's parents decided they wanted him. Which was great because I didn't really want another big dog for outside and since they live right down the road I knew I'd still get to see him. Well, that only lasted for maybe a month and Cooper slowly but surely figured out that the all the other dogs were over here at the barn. So Cooper would never stay at Cody's parents house. He would always end up finding his way back here! Anyways, he is a really pretty dog. He is a little shy an doesn't like ropes either. I think he was abused as well. He is still needing to put on alot of weight. He was super skinny when he showed up. My dad has always wanted a German Shepherd so I am hoping that next weekend when they arrive these two will click and hopefully Cooper will find a new home in Louisiana with them.
This is the baby. Easton. Yes, another dog just showed up. But he is wonderful! I called all of our neighbors and searched the paper for weeks and no lost dog. So he is mine! All mine! He is the sweetest dog ever and he does the cutest things! He came crate broke and potty trained. I mean what more could I ask for? He plays well with Bentley and Paris doesn't mind him that much. So he fits right on in.
Finally, a day at home.
October has kind of been a busy month. Mostly for Cody. At the beginning of the month he was in Ohio for ten days for the PBR. When he finally made it home for a few days, he spent as much time as he could out at our lease hunting. Then we were off to Vegas for a week! We got home late Monday night and we spent Tuesday and Wednesday around the house! My favorite place in the whole entire world! HOME! & well this morning Cody left for Oklahoma City to compete in the US Finals Team Roping. I am pretty excited that October is just about over and hoping that November and December will continue to look pretty open! Anyways, here are some photos from around the house....

My team roper.

Vegas
Cody and I spent last week in Las Vegas. As some of you may know Cody is a stock contractor for the PBR. We raise bucking bulls and each year the PBR holds it's finals out in Vegas. Cody and I didn't haul any bulls out to Vegas this year since we got lucky and sold them earlier in the year. So this year in Vegas it was more like a vacation instead of work! I don't have many pictures to share since I forgot my camera in the room most of the time and besides I didn't really feel like hauling around my Kelly Moore camera bag! But here's a few....enjoy.
Louisiana!
This past weekend Cody got me a ticket and flew me down to Louisiana for Labor Day weekend! I got to spend some quality time with my family & even got to see one of my closest friends! For some reason this trip included alot of good eatin'! We had a crab boil at my sister & her boyfriends house Friday night...the crabs were a little spicy but hey I'm not complaining! Saturday my bestie Katie came down from Lafayette and her, myself, and my favorite cousin Kolt went to the casino for dinner and this included more seafood! On Saturday we went back to my sisters place and we had a barbeque and played volleyball! I forgot how fun volleyball was to play! I finally made it home Tuesday night around 8PM and I returned home to a loving sweet fiance', who really seemed to miss me, two totally excited dogs, who acted as if I was gone a month, and well a dirty house! But that's fine with me ;)
Here are a couple shots of my beautiful sister! I just can't seem to go down there without making her let me shoot her! She makes it too easy!
